Biography

Dr. Muhammad Mustafa is a Professor of Economics in the College of Business and Applied Professional Sciences at the S.C. State University. Dr. Mustafa has been with S.C. State University from 1989 to the present time. He is active in teaching, research and service.

Dr. Mustafa has published more than 40 papers in economics and finance areas in academic journals, and presented more than 140 papers in professional conferences. His research has been published in a variety of journals including Applied Financial Economics, Journal of Economics and Finance, Global Business and Finance Review, Journal of Business and Economic Studies, Journal of Asian Business, International Journal of Business and Economics, Journal of Developing Areas, American Business Review, Journal of Emerging market, Applied Economics, and Research in Finance.

He has completed several research grants and his current grant is “ The Potential of Educational Attainment and Investment on Economic Development of South Carolina” funded by Cooperative State Research Service of USDA. He serves as referee for some finance and economics journals. Dr. Mustafa’s areas of research interest include financial economics, investments financial institutions and market, international finance, and economic development.
